As they said:
“And taking the twelve, he said to them,
‘See, we are going up to Jerusalem ,
and everything that is written
about
the Son of Man by the
prophets will
be accomplished.’” [Lk18:31, 33]
As He said:
“For just
as Jonah was three days
and three nights in the
belly of the
great fish, so will the Son of Man
be three days and three
nights in the
heart of the earth.” [Mt12:40]
As the angel said:
“The
angel said to the women,
‘Do
not be afraid, for I know that
you
are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.
He is not here; he has risen,
just as he said.
Come and see the place where he lay.
Then
go quickly and tell his disciples:
‘He
has risen from the dead
and
is going ahead of you into Galilee .
There
you will see him.’ Now I have told you.”
[Mt28:5-7]
Miracle of all miracles!
He lives!
His chest thumped to the beat of a once-cold heart.
Air filled deflated lungs.
His stiff body warmed…moved.
He rose right out of His grave clothes. Gently, He folded
the linen that bound the dead and took His stand…and strode right past the
stone that sealed His tomb.
Trinity triumph!
The tomb a birthplace!
Born in a cave, to the physical life of Adam.
Born-again in another cave, to eternal life.
The praise on His lips!
The joy
unsurpassed!
The
stretch of His arms!
The
deep breath of fresh air!
ALIVE!
Did He chuckle as the guards fled?
Did He watch them arrive? Overlook the exchange of the angel
with the women?
“So the women hurried away from
the tomb,
afraid yet filled with joy, and
ran to tell his disciples.
Suddenly Jesus met them. “Greetings,” he said.
They came to him, clasped his feet
and worshiped him.”
I want to be like those women!
I don’t want to remain—mourning—at an empty tomb. I want to
be so filled with resurrection-joy that I race to share the Good News. That I
hurry to meet Him in worship.
May the “just-as-He-said’s” of our Lord so flood your mind
and fill your heart that your worship is raised to new life.
Run to Easter...our Lord will meet there.
