A Promised Blessedness for the Bowing

Do you know that you have been promised a blessedness?

You, on the other side of this screen.

Yes, you!

Beautiful you!

It doesn’t require any doing. 

Just bowing.

Bowing your will to the lordship of Christ.

Bowing your heart in lavish worship.

Bowing your head over Sacred Words.

Bowing your pride as sacrifice.

In both Old Testament and New, 

The humble  . . .  the meek  . . .  the poor in spirit,

They have been promised a blessedness.

            The reward for humility and fear of the Lord
            is riches and honor and life. [Prv 22:4 ESV]

            Blessed are the poor in spirit,

            for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. [Mt 5:3 ESV]

This preparation of Easter we name Lent, bow the spirit and receive the promised blessedness of our Lord.

May the only exalted thing in me be You, my Lord.
