“For he is the living God
and he endures forever;
his kingdom will not be destroyed,
his dominion will never end.
Oh, how I needed to be reminded of this today. How my heart was stilled with these blessed words. My mind comforted by the truth that our God lives...reigns.
Set in the hearts of the people of God was the desire for a King. (Unfortunately first confused with a kingdom of men.) God filled that longing with a promise for an Everlasting King. Ever-faithful to His word, He fulfilled that promise.
And yet, my heart longs for that King. And in times like these I need reminding He is coming.
How God has provided encouragement to fill that longing! How He has blessed us with the sacred record of what He so vividly showed Daniel of a time yet to come.
As you read the account, may your devotions be filled with the sweet aroma of peace and hope...and worship. Remembering that just as the Son of Man rode upon the clouds, ascended to the Father to sit at His Right Hand, He will return on the clouds of glory. His reign never-ending. His Kingdom indestructible. His splendor and majesty witnessed and worshipped by adoring multitudes from every nation.
"I saw in the night visions,
and behold,
with the clouds of heaven
there came one like a son of man,
and he came to the Ancient of Days
and was presented before him.
And to him was given
dominion
and glory
and a kingdom,
that all peoples, nations, and languages
should serve him;
his dominion is
an everlasting dominion,
which shall not pass away,
and his kingdom one
that shall not be destroyed."
Ancient of Days; From everlasting to everlasting You are God and Jesus, our King. How awesome is the LORD Most High, the great King over all the earth! Reign in every heart of man.
“The kingdom of the worldhas become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ,and he will reign for ever and ever.”[Rv 11:15]
