Hope-Full

Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;
my hope comes from him.

Sometimes we wish hard for things. Things to happen, things to change, things to come our way. Once in awhile, given a space of time spent laboring and/or waiting -- praying, even -- they may come along. But this is not to be confused with hope. (Though this is often the language I'm guilty of using far too often.)

Hope isn't wishing you'll get what you want...eventually. It's not thinking that, in time, all your dreams will come true.

Hope is the vibrant life coursing through faith in shaky, uncertain places of gray. It is faith in a sovereign God. It's believing He is loving and good...always.

There may be dreams we dream,
goals we strive to accomplish,
desires we long to have fulfilled,
optomistic wants we even sometimes get;
but, our hope never changes.
For the God of our hope never changes.
He Is
The I Am,
Faithful and True.

Our hope lies not in us, or in the things of this world, but in the Trinity and the eternity Christ secured for those who hope.

El Elyon; Sovereign God Most High, all praise be Yours and Yours alone, the God of all our hope. Amen.
