A Verse for the Road

"For the LORD your God
is the one who goes with you
to fight for you
against your enemies
to give you victory." [Dt 20:4]

As we head out into this new day, filled with unknown challenges, tuck this verse in your heart-pocket. Take along this reminder as encouragement from God, should a need arise - your own or someone elses'.

We never know what lies in the immediate span of time we earthlings call today. Who is to know what awaits us on the other side of that door? When you walk through that door, walk out in spiritual victory.

You may be facing a routine day or one filled with stressers. Whatever the plan it certainly has potential to change unexpectedly along the way. As you venture out, do so in faith and in step with Christ. Being built up in the inmost places.

Fortify those vulnerable places prone to attack with God's Word; be it temptation (in all its disguises), personal attack, or worldly influence. Then, come what may, you are reminded; "The Lord is with you."

The world wails; the flesh fights; the enemy entices. Battles rage at any bend. But walking with the Lord means ultimate victory. His invincible power trumps every foe of our faith. We must head out prepared.

So, pick up your purse .......
.......and a Verse.......
.......and embark on the great unknown.

Watch for fellow travelers in need of a boost along the way.

Victorious Lord; Prepare me for what lies ahead this day and when I hit an unexpected bump in the road give me wisdom and faith. Thank You for Your fortifying Word that builds up my faith and prepares my mind for every occasion. Amen.

Going to War

When you go to war against your enemies and see horses and chariots and an army greater than yours, do not be afraid of them, because the LORD your God, who brought you up out of Egypt, will be with you. When you are about to go into battle, the priest shall come forward and address the army. He shall say: "Hear, O Israel, today you are going into battle against your enemies. Do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not be terrified or give way to panic before them. For the LORD your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory." [Dt 20:1-4]
