Especially in the Night

In the night I remember your name,
O LORD,
and I will keep your law.

When your days are beset with troubles and you are alone with your thoughts past the setting of the sun, let not your mind churn nor lead you into temptation or sin. Remember the Lord. Recall His Glorious Name and all He Is. Give the Great I AM praise and He will hold You in the Light of His Word.

As darkness of the impending night approaches, it need not sway you. God's Name has holding power.

Should you see a long, dark shadow casting in your direction from another's contention -- call on the Name of the Lord.

A vacation in a mountain cabin drifts into minds-eye. I recall the waltz of the clouds' shadows wafting across the mountainside. The onsetting storm not intended for the hillside but the valley below. I watched the drama unfold from a safe distance. A storm in someone elses' life may have an indirect affect upon you but you need not run head-on into its path or get dragged needlessly into it.

If a brewing storm billows into your periphery, let His Name be your shelter -- keeping at bay that burden that is not yours to bear. Keeping you in the blessings of this day, this time. Not blowing you back into a once travelled course He has delivered you from safely already.

Watch from a distance and pray. Have the tender, compassionate heart of Christ. Be at the ready should He call you into action but when the night comes, remember His Name and He will keep you where He wants you.

I need not face the nightfall with apprehension. I am stilled by calling on His Name and moving into His truth. Mind and action arighted upon every rememberance of the attributes represented by any one of His many Names.

Receive encouragement from reminders found in His Word, dear friend,of the power in His Wonderful Name.

Each remembrance of His Name strengthens you -- even in the night. Especially in the night.

I rejoice in Your great and awesome Name [Ps 89:16]. Your Name is a Strong Tower; the righteous run to it and are safe [Pv 18:10]. May Your Name be glorified in me [2 Thes 1:12]. Amen.
