Believing the Resurrection

.... if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord,"
and
believe in your heart that
God raised him from the dead,
you will be saved.
[Rm 10:9 emph added]

Do you see that "and" in there? Believing in the resurrection is imperative. It is a crucial part of our faith in Jesus Christ as Savior of the world.

That was the one obstruction blinding the Emmaus-bound men. Dreams shattered and despairing, they shuffled down that dusty road of defeat. So dejected were they, they were not able to listen closely to that familiar voice. They would not be ready for revelation until they believed the resurrection.

Jesus is risen. We must ascribe that miraculous power to God and realize that is a vital part of Christ's work and victory.

Peter has written that we have been born into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus. How can one have living hope in a dead savior? Our hope is living because our Hope is Alive!

The resurrection of our Lord is indisputable. It cannot be disproven and should not be disbelieved.

Allow me to share this compelling quote:

"The bottom line is that approving opinions about Jesus' life miss the point unless married to joyous belief in His resurrection. Reverence, however sincere, for a dead Christ, however noble, will do nothing for a sinner headed toward a lost eternity." Stuart Briscoe

Do you stake your life on His resurrection? Your own resurrection?

My Risen Christ and Lord; My Jesus is alive in glory! You are the Resurrection and Life and I give you praise! You are the Firstfruit to arise and we await the harvest. You have rolled the stone away from the tomb of death unto life and I choose to believe. Yes, Jesus lives! He lives, indeed!

"and if Christ has not been raised,
your faith is worthless;
you are still in your sins."
[1 Cor 15:17]
