Less Is More

I'm clearing out space - making room -

in the spiritual, invisible places.

Purge the lack-luster, the man-made

out with the meaningless, the needless, the clutter.

Bury it deep in Calvary-soil.

Take every cultural ethos,

remove counter-kingdom values;

exchange them for more of You.

Transfer back to the world
my opinions, habits, vanities;
forsake it all as loss.

Create wide, open spaces;
that my Lord might increase within.
Take over this temple, I pray,
before trivialities crowd in.

Less - I want less -
far less of me.
Give me Jesus
- more Jesus -
eternally.
