You never know what a day may hold. You rise and follow a particular routine, all the while unconsciously thinking “It’s all in a day.”
Tasks complete one by one, you move to the next daily requirement - for it’s all in a day.
General plans before you, certain responsibilities listed to accomplish. It’s all in a day.
You move along, making progress, when suddenly the day shifts gears into the unknown, the unexpected.
I had just that sort of day yesterday. Several remarkable things occurred within the unplanned drama:
1) I frequently reflected back upon the thoughts penned and posted on Monday’s blog. Hope, faith, God’s promises. Thankful to have these stored so fresh in my mind.
2) God filled me with an awareness of His presence and His peace. Uncertain of many things – but sure of One.
3) I was surrounded with loving, caring friends. Drawing great strength and comfort from their prayers, their touch, their smiles. (This detour certainly not planned in their day!). Their unhesitant response, a sacrifice not to be considered. (Big hugs of thanks, sisters! I love you so!)
This morning I read Psalm 33; reminded that the Lord is faithful in all He does, the earth is full of His unfailing love.

This morning I read Psalm 33; reminded that the Lord is faithful in all He does, the earth is full of His unfailing love.
He thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever,
the purposes of His heart through all generations.
He watches all who live on earth –
He who forms the hearts of all,
who considers everything they do.
The eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him,
on those whose hope is in His unfailing love.
We wait in hope for the Lord;
He is our help and our shield.
In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.
May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD,
even as we put our hope in you.
He considered the hearts of all He gathered together and they were His - all His - to use, to help, to serve, to show the depth and faithfulness of His love. All of our plans were altered – set aside so that His came first. One of His own was in distress and in need and those who trust in His holy name responded without a second thought. His love indeed rested upon us and we waited in hope. He did not fail us.
Hope in the Lord – it’s all in a day.
I praise You, God, for Your unfailing love. I thank You for surrounding me with dear friends with pure hearts for You, for touching me with Your love through them. You are our hope and our shield and our hearts rejoice in You. May my heart always be in tune with Yours and may the plans of my day be surrendered to Yours always. When You look upon this earth, may You find hearts that fear You.
