A sea of red
Shoulder to shoulder
On our knees
With one goal
Gleaming lines of copper
None alike
Nor straight
But touching
Linked together
With a Kingdom purpose
Feeble fingers fumble in rapid succession. Busy bodies shuffling a mile worth of pennies. "Why," you ask? Fair question. Just a wild and wacky idea of our Youth Minister to raise funds for missions by attempting to break a world record.
The old record is still secure. However, success was still granted, for more was accomplished than not, and many goals were realized. To name just four:
A church united with passion, purpose and excitement.
Outrageous fun making lasting memories
Building a bond of family
Homes will soon be built in Honduras
May God be praised - 84,480 times - once for each penny laid. Then multiplied by the number of participants. I envision a heavenly smile responding.
It was all laid down for the Lord on holy ground for truly "In God We Trust".
"whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God."
