“My songs didn’t download because I didn’t check the box”, I heard my daughter lament from the other room. Fortunately for us we don’t have to worry if we’ve checked all the right boxes on a particular list in order to receive from God.
It is essential for every Jesus-follower to be connected to God. For the sake of this illustration, let’s think for a moment that God is the Library; the USB Cable as the Holy Spirit; an Ipod as my heart. The syncing of Ipods is a regular occurrence in my house. Staying in sync with God should be even more frequent.
We need to download holy files, plug in to the source Library and get synced. Allow those files to play over and over; moving to His rhythm; hearing his beat; filling ourselves with His song. Infusing the soul with Scripture sound bites.
A modern day act of worship – in sync with the Almighty Jehovah.
I praise Your ubiquitous nature – that I can plug in anywhere, anytime. God, create in me the desire to stay connected to You, living in Your Word and Your will and synchronizing with You. In the Name of Jesus, Amen
May my tongue sing of your word,
for all your commands are righteous.
